The weather has finally warmed up in metro Denver, but the higher temperatures will be accompanied by the chance of afternoon showers and large hail storms for the next several days.
Denver will reach a high of 76 degrees on Saturday, with the potential for severe storms, 60 mph winds and hail one-inch in diameter in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The strong storms will hit Denver, extending east and south over the Palmer Divide, forecasters say.
Strong afternoon storms are also possible on Sunday — particularly on the plains — and the afternoon stormy weather is expected to continue through Wednesday.
Temperatures will continue to climb next week, the NWS says, reaching a high of 83 degrees on Monday.
Best chance for strong to severe storms from Denver and extending east and south over the Palmer Divide for this afternoon.
