Denver police now say a man killed in downtown Denver early Monday morning was a homicide victim, according to a police tweet.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner has been called to the homicide scene near 21st and Champa streets, according to a 10:38 a.m. Denver police tweet.
Police had recommended that people take alternate routes to work Monday morning because 21st and Champa were closed during the investigation.
UPDATE: This incident is now being investigated as a homicide. Victim is an adult male with an apparent gun shot wound. Coroner will release cause of death and victim identity. No suspect info. Remains an active investigation.
