Mother Nature may not cooperate with superstar country singer Garth Brooks Saturday night when he appears for a concert at Broncos Stadium at Mile High for some 80,000 ticket holders.
Fans should bring their rain gear just in case of a downpour.
Thunder, lightning and rain is possible in Denver from Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The chance for rain increases to 40 percent at night, they said. The concert starts at 7 p.m.
“There will be showers and thunderstorms, in and out. We’re not looking for a honking big storm but lightning will be a concern,” NWS meteorologist Nazette Rydell said. “Keep an eye on the sky.”
When it isn’t raining, it will be pleasant outdoors on Saturday with a high around 80 degrees, the NWS said.
Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected Friday, mainly after 1 p.m., the NWS says. The high temperature will be around 86 degrees, the weather service said.
Cooler weather is expected Sunday through Wednesday, with temperatures from the lower-to-upper 70s, the weather service said.
