We must condemn Trump
Re: āTrump compares himself to Kavanaugh in latest allegation of sexual assault,ā June 23 news brief
Just this week, the news is filled with E. Jean Carrollās story accusing President Donald Trump of raping her. Her rape story matches other Trump-assault stories. The president¶¶Ņõap response? Carroll isnāt his type. It¶¶Ņõap ironically the same retort he gave about Stormy Daniels before we found out she received hush money to keep quiet about their relationship.
I read more about immigrant children, who came here yearning for a better life, living at U.S. detention centers in filthy conditions. Ironically, our government argued that safe and sanitary is open for interpretation.
Trump has marginalized just about every race, sexual preference, and religion. Heās mocked people with disabilities. Heās called the media the enemy. Heās ruined relations with our allies while adoring our enemies.
Whereās the line? What¶¶Ņõap it going to take for people to condemn Trump? What¶¶Ņõap it going to take for Sen. Cory Gardner to condemn Trump as a danger to our country, the GOP, America, our laws, and our humanity?
History and our children are watching, Colorado. It¶¶Ņõap time we peacefully rise up and tell officials decency matters … before it doesnāt.

Ted Nugent¶¶Ņõap disturbing comments about underage girls
Re: āNugent weighs in on drug use, gun-grabbers,ā June 23 news story
So, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams invited rocker Ted Nugent to his fundraiser, promoting Nugent¶¶Ņõap conservative values. Reams likes Nugent¶¶Ņõap stance for easy guns, opposing California liberals, and also admits Nugent is āfiery.ā But I wonder why Sheriff Reams would ingore Nugent¶¶Ņõap gleeful admission of having sex with underage girls during a VH1 documentary interview? What does Sheriff Reams think of those conservative values of Nugent? What kind of law abiding sheriff is Reams?

Free community college, ļ¬rst
When I grew up in California in the 1950s, all junior colleges were free, excluding some costs such as books et al. If you earned a certain GPA, you were eligible for going on to UC Berkeley. In Colorado, a similar program could be set up for the community colleges and admission to the CU system. I am a firm believer in our community college system for training a number of students into jobs at the end of the two years and having the possibility for further studies if a full degree is desirable and costs are feasible.
While several candidates for president are pushing for eliminating debt for advanced education, this may be an extreme but laudable concept, but a local option for us could be done now.

Great advocacy, bad journalism
Re: āGood journalism is gasping for air,ā June 25 column
Gary Abernathy criticized the left-leaning media for being unfair and unbalanced. āGreat advocacy, bad journalism,ā he said of Chuck Toddās disparaging interview with President Donald Trump. He called for left-leaning reporters to return āto the glory days of unbiased, dispassionate reporting.ā But Abernathy is just as guilty of the opposite bias. Had he been fair and balanced, he would have criticized the right-leaning media for its pandering support of Trump. Abernathyās column itself was āgreat advocacy, bad journalism.ā
