Former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is trying to make a name for himself as a professional baseball player. The only problem is he’s past his prime and continues to struggle at the Triple-A level.
Tebow’s numbers for the Syracuse Mets of the International League are sub par to say the least, batting .150 with 76 strikeouts in 187 at bats, one homer and a .209 slugging percentage.
The Mets, like Tebow, are going nowhere this season as they are 11 games back in the National League East. As the Metropolitans continue to struggle, the fans in Flushing Meadows need something to cheer for, and his name is Tebow.
New York could use a little “Tebowmania” this year when the time comes for September callups.
Why does this matter here in Denver? The Mets come to LoDo to play the Rockies in a three-game series on Sept. 16-18, meaning Tebow could be back in town.
You read it here first, Tebow may return to Denver this fall in the Orange and Blue — only it would be with the Mets.
Let’s all take a minute today and remember the good ‘ol days of “Tebowing” and the excitement he brought to Denver with the Broncos.
If he makes his major league debut against the Rockies at Coors Field, the Rooftop Party deck is sure to be rocking, and Tebow will likely hit a homer in his first at bat.
