Mostly clear and sunny skies are forecast for the next few days before another storm system sweeps into the Denver metro area bringing rain and lightning.
The high temperature on Wednesday will be around 87 degrees, said the National Weather Service in Boulder. Wind gusts could reach 21 mph.
It will be another mostly sunny summer day, with isolated storms south of I-70 late in the day. Hotter temperatures coming for Friday!

Thursday’s high will be around 93 degrees, the NWS said.
A storm system enters the state from the northeast Friday afternoon. There’s a 30 percent chance for rain showers and thunderstorms, forecasters said. It will be very hot with a high temperature of about 95 degrees.
The chance for rain increases on Saturday to 40 percent, the NWS said. The high temperature will be around 91 degrees.
Afternoon rain and thunderstorms are expected on Sunday as well. The high temperature will be around 92 degrees.
The high temperature will reach the lower 90s both Monday and Tuesday, according to the forecast.
