Drier weather is expected to continue Sunday with temperatures near seasonal normals in Denver, according to the National Weather Service.

The day calls for a high near 89 degrees and a low near 61, with only a 10 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening, forecasters predict. The chance of rain increases slightly Monday and throughout the week, with heavy rain expected Thursday.

Isolated storms are expected in the mountains and foothills, bringing along some gusty winds up to 50 mph, according to the weather service. However, the weather is also expected to remain drier than it has been. Denver could only see up to 9 mph winds during the day.
