The James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Tour is finally coming to Denver

If you can’t wait until May 2020, there’s a Taste America pop-up at Rioja in November

The has been cooking around the country for seven years, but 2020 will be the first year it will make a stop in Denver. The roving national food festival dedicated to eating and exalting American cuisine will finally feed the Mile High City May 14-16, as .

Other cities earning stops next year are the usual suspects of San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as the unusual suspects of Kansas City, Phoenix, Louisville and the Twin Cities, among others.

The JBF tour didn’t return our requests for details on the specific food events that will go down in May, but we’re guessing that they will be delicious and will involve the phrase “celebrity chef.”

Denver has been getting more attention from the food world of late, what with in 2017, holding its major festival here for the past three summers and some big wins for local chefs and restaurants at the annual James Beard Awards.

Can’t wait until May? (insert groan at the overuse of “pop-up” here) on Thursday, Nov. 7, cooked for you by restaurant owner and James Beard Award-winning chef Jen Jasinski. .
