The National Weather Service cautioned people to practice heat safety as cities across the south-central plains to the east coast are expected to see a day in the high 90s and triple digits.

In Denver, Monday’s high is expected to be 98 degrees, with mostly sunny skies throughout the day. Wednesday’s high could provide some reprieve with a high near 86 degrees and some thunderstorms and a return to 91 degrees on Thursday is forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service’s hazardous weather outlook for northeast and north central Colorado predicts hot and dry days Sunday and Monday, with elevated fire danger on Monday. In the foothills and mountains, thunderstorms are likely late Tuesday into Wednesday and Thursday.
