Bring extra water to the game tonight, Broncomaniacs.
Temperatures for Monday night’s Broncos-49ers preseason game at Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver are expected to be in the low-to-mid 90s at kickoff, . The kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
If Monday’s kickoff temperature is 93 degrees or above, it’d be hotter than any Denver Broncos game in team history. The current record is a 92-degree kickoff temperature, set just last September. Three preseason games also have featured a kickoff temperature of 92 degrees, most recently a 2010 exhibition against the Detroit Lions.
There’s limited information on kickoff temperatures during the preseason, but it’s a near-lock that Monday night’s game will rank among the hottest temperatures for any Bronco game in team history.
A couple precautions fans can keep in mind for Monday’s game: stay hydrated, limit the booze and caffeine, wear light-colored clothing (might be a good night for that white Broncos jersey, if you’ve got it), and try and stay out of the sun and in the shade.
Hint: If you’re buying last-second tickets for the game, get an east-facing view to avoid the scorching sun during the first quarter. Here’s a quick guide on where to try and buy shaded tickets for the game:
If you're buying a last-second ticket, if you can, try and get an east-facing view (sections 525-542, 326-346, 117-128) so you're at least in the shade.
Kickoff temps 91°-94°.

From a broader perspective, if Monday’s temperature in Denver reaches 100 degrees or above — which does appear unlikely, but possible — it’d be the latest 100-degree reading in Denver on record. The current latest 100-degree reading on record dates back to Aug. 16, 2002.
