Denver broke the all-time record high temperature for September on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The last recorded high for the month was 97 degrees, and at 1:17 p.m. Sunday, the high reached 98 degrees, the National Weather Service said on Twitter. That record high was set Sept. 1, 1995.
Labor Day is expected to be even hotter, with the high expected near 99 degrees, forecasters predicted. The record high of 95 degrees for Sept. 2 was set in 1983, according to the weather service.
