
Denver should be mostly sunny Tuesday but is expected to be much cooler than the record-breaking heat of Labor Day on Monday.
The high temperature is predicted to be about 86 degrees Tuesday, which would be 14 degrees below Monday’s high of 100 degrees, the highest temperature in recorded history for that late in the year, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Northwesterly winds are expected to gust up to 16 mph, the NWS said.
Afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday. The high temperature is expected to be around 92 degrees, forecasters said. There is a 30 percent chance of rain and thunder.

It should be hot on Thursday, with a high temperature of about 94 degrees. There’s a 30 percent chance of afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms, the NWS said.
Rain showers and thunderstorms are more likely on Friday, when the high temperature will be about 87 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 60 percent, forecasters said.
There’s another good chance for rain on Saturday, the NWS said. Thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon. The high temperature will be around 86 degrees.
