Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer plan to fill Dick’s Sporting Goods Park with devoted fans next summer, for nearly a decade at the Commerce City venue.
Dubbed the Hella Mega Tour, the trio of pop-punk and alt-rock acts will play Dick’s on July 28, 2020. Tickets for the 5:30 p.m. concert, with opening act The Interruptors, are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20 via .
As the show is promoted by Live Nation, no advance ticket prices are available. The Denver office of the national promoter stopped including pricing information in its pre-sale press releases in recent months, citing the changing nature of ticket sales and fluctuating prices.
The announcement of the package tour, presented by Harley-Davidson, heralds new music from the three bands, all of whom first found success in the 1990s with upbeat, melodic rock anthems (and the occasional ballad) that ruled MTV and radio airwaves.
Dick’s Sportings Goods Park, which recently hosted , closed most of its parking and all of its camping areas in advance of the Phish shows due to concerns about fleas and prairie dogs infected with the plague (The restriction on plague-infected areas has since been lifted). While some fans were disappointed by the closure, helped alleviate the flow of traffic into and out of the park.
