Denver weather: Slight chance of afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms Tuesday

Isolated afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast Tuesday in Denver, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The high temperature in downtown Denver is expected to be about 87 degrees, the NWS said.

Denver has a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1-5 p.m., forecasters said. There is a 20% chance of precipitation.

The best chance for rain and thunderstorms in Colorado is in the foothills and mountains, the NWS said.

Wednesday is predicted to be dry with a high temperature of about 81 degrees, forecasters said.

Afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday and Friday, the NWS said.
