Alamosa easily defeated Montezuma-Cortez by a score of 56-0 on Friday.
Brendon Madril powered Alamosa’s passing attack with 158 yards through the air. Madril also added 35 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Alamosa’s leading receiver was Ian Jackson, who caught six passes for 126 yards and two scores.
Alamosa’s ground game was lead by Luke Smith who tallied 54 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
Ty Blackmer led Montezuma-Cortez’s aerial attack with 76 yards through the air. Blackmer’s most relied on target in the ballgame was Kaleb Gropp, who caught two passes for 70 yards.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Alamosa hosting Salida and Montezuma-Cortez taking on Bayfield.
