Byers earned a win when they defeated Akron 14-6 on Friday, Oct. 11.
Ty Miller powered Byers’ passing attack with 107 yards through the air. Miller also added one touchdown on the ground. Brody Despard lead all Byers receivers with two catches for 45 yards.
Grayson Pachner led Akron’s aerial attack with 81 yards through the air. Pachner also added 51 yards on the ground. Akron’s leading receiver was Adrian Herrera, who caught three passes for 47 yards.
Xavier Livesay lead all Akron rushers with 72 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Cameron Collins added 61 yards on the ground, averaging 8.7 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Byers heading to play Haxtun and Akron taking on Caliche.
