Byers earned a win when they beat Akron 14-6 on Friday.
Ty Miller led Byers’ passing attack with 107 yards through the air. Miller also added one rushing touchdown. Brody Despard lead all Byers receivers with two catches for 45 yards.
Grayson Pachner led Akron’s passing attack with 81 yards through the air. Pachner also added 51 yards on the ground. Adrian Herrera lead all Akron receivers with three catches for 47 yards.
Xavier Livesay spearheaded the Akron rushing attack by finishing with 72 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Cameron Collins added 61 yards on the ground, averaging 8.7 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Byers heading to play Haxtun and Akron taking on Caliche.
