Grand Valley couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Hotchkiss squad, losing by a score of 28-0 on Friday, Oct. 11 at Grand Valley High School.
Yahir Chavez led Hotchkiss’ passing attack with 75 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Chavez also added 80 yards on the ground. Chavez’s favorite receiver in the contest was Blaine Peebles, who caught one pass for 65 yards.
Hotchkiss’ ground game was spearheaded by Jace Peebles who accrued 208 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 13 yards per carry. Traycer Hall contributed 60 yards , averaging 8.6 yards per carry.
Emilio Garcia lead all Grand Valley rushers with 58 yards in the game, averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
In their next games, Hotchkiss will stay home and play Olathe, while Grand Valley will travel to play Cedaredge.
