Mountain Valley handed Manzanola a loss in a 19-13 showdown on Friday at Mountain Valley High School, Stadium.
Manzanola quarterback Axel Escareno led the passing attack with 54 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Escareno also added 99 yards on the ground. Blake Williams lead all Manzanola receivers with three receptions for 54 yards and one score.
In addition to Axel Escareno’s effort, Dalton Carroll lead the Manzanola ground game by accumulating 51 yards in the contest, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Mountain Valley hosting Cripple Creek-Victor and Manzanola taking on La Veta.
