Highs will stay in the 60s and 70s in metro Denver heading into the weekend before a cold spell on Sunday brings icy temperatures and significant snow throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Denverites can expect sunny skies and a high of 60 degrees Friday, with temperatures hitting north of 70 degrees on Saturday.
But beginning Saturday night, snow will hit the metro area and the mountains. Denver could see up to 8 inches, the NWS said, with a foot possible in the mountains.
The winter weather will impact travelers through Monday morning.
