A Lakewood man was sentenced Thursday to almost nine years in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine and heroin.

Troy Andrew Lujan, 37, was sentenced to 105 months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Philip A. Brimmer, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney office in Colorado.

Taken into custody at the hearing, Lujan also was sentenced to five years of supervised release after his prison term.

Lujan, according to the release, was selling about an ounce of methamphetamine and heroin out of his apartment daily and he had about 20 regular customers.

“The defendant is a five-time felon who was peddling methamphetamine and heroin on the streets of Denver,” said U.S. Attorney Jason Dunn, in the release. “Spending nearly 9 years in federal prison will give him a long time to contemplate whether he should choose a different path.”

Indicted by a grand jury on Nov. 15, 2018, Lujan was convicted by a jury on May 14.

The release described Lujan as a “documented member of the East Side Oldies criminal street gang.”
