A cold and snowy week gives way to sunny skies and warmer temperatures for the weekend, meteorologists say.

Saturday’s high temperature in Denver is expected to be 56 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It will be clear all day in the eastern part of the state, and will become sunny over the mountains by the afternoon, NWS forecasts.

Temperatures are expected to drop to around freezing this evening in Denver, with a low of 31 degrees, and calm winds.

Sunday, too, is expected to be pleasant. Denver’s high for that day is expected at 62 degrees, with mostly sunny skies becoming cloudier into the evening when the temperature will drop to 29 degrees, according to the NWS forecast.

The warmth and sun won’t last long, NWS predicts: there’s a chance of snow on both Monday and Tuesday.
