A 42-year-old woman is accused of embezzling more than $260,000 from a Greeley-based electrical contracting company.
As office manager of E&T Electric, 229 9th Ave., in Greeley, Melissa Granados, 42, was responsible for completing QuickBooks accounting for the company, according to an affidavit for her arrest. A July payment of $2,000 from the business’ bank account to Granados’ personal account first brought the embezzlement to the company’s attention.
In addition to its Greeley headquarters, E&T has offices in California, Nebraska and Texas.
The company reported the suspected fraudulent transactions to the Greeley Police Department on Sept. 3. The company believes there were more than 50 fraudulent transactions made since January of 2015, totaling more than $500,000.
