Denver Black Friday weather: Fog, rain and snow with wind picking up overnight

The dense fog that blanketed Denver on Friday morning was expected to retreat by 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Rain and snow are likely throughout the rest of the day. The high temperature is expected to be 36 degrees and overnight low is 27.

In Denver, winds will pick up overnight with gusts around 24 miles per hour and snow showers dropping less than a half-inch of powder expected.

Heavy snow and strong winds are expected to hit the Interstate 70 corridor between Vail Pass and the Eisenhower Tunnel anywhere from 2:40 p.m to 3:15 p.m, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Meteorologists anticipate 2 inches of snow will accumulate per hour with wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour. The conditions will likely cause blowing snow, reduced visibility and localized whiteout conditions.

Saturday is expected to be partly sunny and windy with a high temperature of 41 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 40 miles-per-hour.

Saturday night should be clear with a low of 17 degrees.

The sun is expected to return on Sunday when the mercury could hit 40 degrees.

The overnight low is expected to be 21 degrees.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 53 degrees.
