A person was killed Wednesday in Denver in a hit-and-run traffic crash in southwest Denver involving a recreational vehicle, police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of West Jewell Avenue and South Tejon Street, police said. After a driver fled the scene, police issued a Medina Alert about 4:30 p.m. for a 1985 beige or off-white Winnebago with temporary tag 1612796.

Police, about 8:30 p.m., said the RV was found in the area of West Mississippi Avenue and South Lipan Street. Two people were contacted by police, and the alert was canceled.

No arrest was made, and an investigation is ongoing, police said. The identity of the person killed in the crash was not released.
