Both directions of Interstate 70 closed for about an hour Friday afternoon east of Glenwood Springs after multiple car crashes, leaving at least one injured, Colorado Department of Transportation and State Patrol officials said.

One crash was reported at exit 140, near Gypsum, Colo., around 2:30 p.m., closing the eastbound lane, according to a release from the department.

The westbound lanes closed soon after at Eagle “due to multiple different crashes and safety concerns,” the patrol said in a release on Twitter.

The interstate reopened near Gypsum around 3:20 p.m. and near Eagle around 3:47 p.m., the department wrote on Twitter.
