There is a sunny day ahead but if your New Year’s Eve plans include an outdoor countdown to midnight in Denver you had better dress warm.
The high temperature on Tuesday will be near 45 degrees. But “the temperature will drop down to the mid 20s and it will be there around midnight in the Denver area,” said Russell Danielson, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The wind is expected to come from the south at 6 to 10 mph and could gust up to 16 mph. The wind chill will make it feel like the temperature is in the teens, Danielson said.
It will be chilly but within the normal range for this time of year.
New Year’s Day is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 52 degrees and an overnight low of 29.
Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 41 degrees and an overnight low of 22.
Friday will again be mostly sunny with a high near 40 and an overnight low around 27 degrees.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 54 degrees and an overnight low around 32.
Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high near 51 degrees but on Sunday night there is a chance of snow showers and an overnight low around 26 degrees.
