The Denver region will see sunshine and warmer temperatures early this week, but that will give way to possible snow and wind on Thursday as a storm system swipes across the state.

Sunday will see highs in the upper 40s with sunshine and dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder. The sunny weather will continue into Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures hitting the mid-to-upper 50s, according to the service.

Cooler temperatures are then expected to move in, with snowfall starting in the mountains on Wednesday and potentially moving into the plains Thursday, according to the weather service.

Snow accumulations are expected to be light as the storm, which is expected to blow across the state, will be fast-moving, according to the service.

Conditions should dry up again by Friday, with sunshine and highs in the 50s.
