A man who was shot dead Friday in Denver’s East Colfax neighborhood was identified as 34-year-old Brad Edmonds, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner said.
Edmonds was pronounced dead at scene in the 1400 block of Yosemite Street. He died of a gunshot wound and his manner of death is a homicide, the medical examiner’s news release said.
Shon A. Medina, 34, has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.Medina, who is being held without bond for investigation of first-degree murder, claims the incident arose over a money dispute and that the shooting was in self defense, according to a probable cause statement.
A second man, Edmonds’ twin brother, was also shot, according to police. He was hit multiple times and was found after the shooting at a restaurant in the 8800 block of East Colfax Avenue.
The surviving twin told investigators that the brothers went to a home on Yosemite Street to be paid for a copper recycling deal, the statement said. Medina, who opened the front door, argued with the pair and shots were fired. An investigation is ongoing.
