Former Avalanche star Chris Drury, the assistant general manager for the , will again serve as GM for the 2020 U.S. men’s national team when it plays at the World Championship this spring in Switzerland.
The Americans lost to Russia 4-3 in the quarterfinals last year in Slovakia. The men’s WC features the world’s top players not playing in the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs.
“Anytime you have a chance to represent your country on the international stage – in whatever capacity – itap truly an honor,” Drury said in a release. “We had a terrific team last year, and while we didn’t get the result we wanted, I think we’re on the cusp of getting to that ultimate goal of winning the gold medal.”
