Sunday’s warm temperatures could break records, but they won’t last long — freezing rain and snow will move in to the Denver region early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder.
The Denver region will see sunshine and highs in the low-to-mid-70s on Sunday. The unseasonably warm weather could break temperature records for Feb. 2 in some places across the plains.
Those warm temperatures will plummet overnight, with a light freezing rain likely after 5 a.m. Monday, followed by snow Monday afternoon and throughout Tuesday as temperatures hover in the teens and 20s. Between one and eight inches of snow are expected Monday, according to the weather service, with additional snowfall on Tuesday.
Sunshine should return Wednesday, but temperatures will stay cold throughout the week, and the area could see more snow — or possibly rain — on Friday, according to the weather service.
