Basalt was paced in scoring by Marlon Nelson who accounted for 10 points while collecting five rebounds. Brian Granados helped by chipping in seven points.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Aspen heading to play Olathe and Basalt taking on Cedaredge.
