To steal a line from WWE’s Goldberg for UFC star Conor McGregor: Who’s next?
After McGregor quickly defeated Colorado’s own “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds at UFC 246, the contenders to face the Irish fighter are plenty. Rumors involve everything from a third bout with veteran Nate Diaz to a fight with former Northern Colorado all-American wrestler Justin Gaethje to another boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Top Rank founder and CEO Bob Arum has another fighter in mind: WBO world welterweight boxing champion Terence Crawford, who trains at Triple Threat Gym in Colorado Springs.

, “We’ve thrown out the challenge to the UFC that Terence will fight Conor McGregor in the octagon. Terence is a great wrestler — fight him in the octagon and then a few months later, we’ll fight him in the boxing ring.”
He added: “I don’t know what Dana White and the UFC is going to decide. They may not want to risk Conor McGregor in an MMA fight against a boxer because that may hurt because I think Crawford will beat him. And they might not want to risk that. I know we’ve contacted his manager and they seem at least a minimal at least to talk.”
If a match with McGregor doesn’t happen, Arum said he would like to see Crawford face WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. or 41-year-old boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
