The Denver region could see a thunderstorm Sunday evening ahead of a warm start to a week punctuated by occasional rain showers.

Sunday’s skies will be party cloudy as temperatures hit the mid-60s, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder. There’s a slight chance of rain after 1 p.m., and that chance grows after 4 p.m., when the region might see an evening thunderstorm, according to the weather service.

Mountain elevations will see between two and five inches of snow Sunday.

On the plains, high temperatures will stay in the low-to-mid 60s throughout the week, with some possible rain and a few scattered overnight snow showers.

A storm system will move into the Denver region on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which will bring more rain and overnight snow showers, as well as cooler temperatures toward the end of the week.
