Denver restaurants want to help you celebrate Easter and Passover at home this year

You’d be forgiven if you forgot about two holidays coming up this week: Passover, which starts on the evening of Wednesday, April 8, and Easter on Sunday, April 12. Whether you lost track of the month, couldn’t find ingredients at the store or just wanted to take this year off while supporting a local restaurant, here are seven options in town. And if you’re all set at home, why not donate a meal to a friend or family in need?

Ash’Kara offers a Passover dinner meal kit for two ($55) or four people ($100). Each kit is made to be re-heated at home and includes matzo ball soup, beef brisket with braising jus, roasted root vegetables, Israeli greens with avocado za’atar dressing and assorted cookies. The Binderyis preparing a huge Easter brunch spread to order a la carte or as a set meal for pickup or delivery. Pastries and desserts include macarons, cream puffs, carrot cake and Easter brioche (or Pane di Pasqua). Chefs’ specials range from bagels to omelet boxes to feed families of six (or one, with lots of leftovers at the end). Family brunches with ham or lamb and a handful of sides feed 2-10 people ($55-$125), and you can choose mimosas, bloody marys or wine bottles to add on. Morin chef and owner Max MacKissock will send you and yours home with a nearly-complete Easter brunch this weekend. For $40 per person, you’ll get slices of smoked ham, breakfast sausage, biscuits and jam, blueberry French toast, scrambled eggs and asparagus with a charred ramp vinaigrette. Postino restaurants in LoHi and on Broadway are selling an Easter Sunday Back Patio Pack complete with spinach and artichoke quiche, caprese salad and six “giant” cinnamon rolls, all for $50 (feeds four to six people). Customers can also add on a bellini kit for four people ($25), or a bottle of wine including rosé and sparkling options ($15). Rye Society‘s Passover meals will feed two to eight people ($95-$350) and are available for pre-order through the evening of Monday, April 6. Pickup is on Wednesday or Thursday, and delivery is available for an added fee. The meals come with charoset, matzo, matzo ball soup, roast brisket, and tzimmes made with carrots, sweet potatoes and prunes with honey. Rioja‘s Easter on the Fly includes five courses for $36 per person — braised Colorado lamb shoulder, ricotta gnocchi, spring salad, rosemary goat cheese biscuits and carrot cake cupcakes. Safta‘s Passover family meal feeds four to six people with a full seder plate (horseradish, charoset, beet-cured eggs, bitter greens, asparagus and lamb ribs), duck matzo ball soup, charred cabbage, pomegranate braised lamb shank, saffron rice and a flourless chocolate cake, all for $100.
