It’s Frrrr-igid. Icy cold temperatures shattered 87-year old morning lows for the second day in a row with a reading of 11 degrees Tuesday.
One more good reason to abide by Colorado’s stay-at-home order during the COVID1-19 pandemic — it’s cold out there any way you look at it.
The previous record for April 14 was 15 degrees set way back in 1933. It was a cold spell never matched until Monday and Tuesday of this week.
On Monday, April 13, the temperature plummeted to 16 degrees, eclipsing the previous low of 17 degrees set in 1933, said the National Weather Service in Boulder.
We've been down to 11 degrees in Denver so far this morning, breaking the old record of 15 set in 1933. It could still get a little colder. Many places are near their record lows for this date.

Mostly sunny skies will offer a reprieve Tuesday afternoon when the high temperature will climb to about 40 degrees, according to forecasters.
