With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Monday’s game, the Rockies were 27-12.

The Giants and the Rockies combined for 27 hits, but San Francisco stood tall at the end to win, 8-7, Monday at Coors Field.

Colorado starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings. Reliever James Pazos (0-1) had another rough outing,

Charlie Blackmon picked up where he left off Sunday, crushing a 426-foot home run in the first inning. He finished the day batting 3 for 4 with an RBI. Nolan Arenado also had a homer.

Down 8-4 in the eighth inning, the Rockies battled back when Trevor Story hit a two-run single to cut the deficit to two. Colorado added one more in the ninth when Sam Hilliard homered to right field.

Colorado fell to 27-13 on the year and hold a 3 1/2-game lead over the Dodgers (23-16) for the National League West lead. The Giants, sitting at the bottom of the division, improved to 17-24.
