With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Tuesday’s game, the Rockies were 52-26.

Shortstop Trevor Story drove in four runs to lead the Rockies to a 9-3 victory over the Royals on Tuesday at Coors Field.

Colorado got on the board in the second inning when catcher Tony Wolters doubled in Ryan McMahon to tie it at 1-apiece. Starting pitcher Kyle Freeland then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Wolters and give the Rockies a 2-1 lead.

In the fifth, Colorado scored five runs, highlighted by Story’s two-run triple. He finished the day batting 2 for 4 with four RBIs and a home run — a two-run shot that drove in Nolan Arenado in the seventh.

Freeland (7-4) pitched six strong innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out five. Carlos Estevez and Tim Collins combined for two scoreless innings in relief.
