Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain is possible Tuesday afternoon in parts of Colorado, though the metro area is expected to avoid the harshest conditions.
Short and intense isolated storms are predicted around Denver, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. But 2-inch hail and gusts up to 70 miles per hour are possible on the Eastern Plains and Palmer Divide between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., forecasters said.
Experts say the safest place is to be indoors as storms are approaching.
Highs in Denver will approach 87 degrees.
