It seems like yesterday that Drew Lock was being praised as the “next big thing” by sports personality Colin Cowherd and selected as the No. 15 overall pick in .
That hype isn’t quite there from Pro Football Focus for the Broncos’ second-year quarterback.
Lock was placed in the Tier 4 — the bottom tier — and was the 26th name listed on entering the 2020 season.
“Itap far too early to definitively declare Lock as the future for the Broncos, even with his 4-1 record, but the offseason additions in Denver will give him every opportunity to succeed,” PFF’s Steve Palazzolo writes. “… With speed, outside playmakers and viable middle-of-the-field weapons, Lock should have an opportunity to show off the zip and touch that put him in the first-round conversation before he landed in the second round in 2019. We’ll know much more about Lock by the end of 2020.”
Denver Post’s Ryan O’Halloran previewed the team’s quarterback situation last week, noted that the Broncos “were boring and bad until Lock took over in Week 13. His combined experience in college and last year should allow him to build on the successes without getting too high and recover from the lows without letting bad weeks stack up on each other.”
