For months, national outlets have been theorizing about the “bluing” of American suburbs during the tenure of President Donald Trump. However, it’s difficult to know if and to what extent a change is happening in the electorate until you have an election to measure it.

That’s why reporter Jon Murray’s first job after election results started rolling in Tuesday was to look at the map of how Coloradans voted in this presidential election vs. the Clinton-Trump race four years ago. He looked not only at the trends around the Denver suburbs but also what happened around the rest of the state.

The results are fascinating.
