Eight days after being diagnosed with COVID-19, first gentleman Marlon Reis has been hospitalized due to a “slightly worsening cough and shortness of breath,” according to a statement from Gov. Jared Polis’ office.

“As a precaution, the first gentleman has been transported to the hospital for review and treatment,” the statement reads. “Governor Polis is not experiencing any additional symptoms at this time.”

Reis and Polis both tested positive on Nov. 28. They were “asymptomatic” and “feeling well” at that time.

Polis began quarantining on Nov. 25 after learning he was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
