A woman was shot and killed by an Adams County Sheriff early Tuesday morning.
A deputy located a reportedly stolen car on I-76 just after midnight Tuesday, and a chase began. The pursuit saw two adult females evade the sheriffs, officials said.
Eventually, the vehicle was found again, but it was abandoned, according to officials. Deputies began searching the area and contacted one adult female suspect.
During the interaction, deputies said they were alerted that the suspect had a gun. The woman was fatally shot in the area of East 25th Avenue and Imboden Road.
Adam Sherman, a spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, said investigators are currently conducting interviews with witnesses, involved individuals and deputies.
