16-year-old killed in Denver shooting near DCIS at Ford Elementary School identified

A 16-year-old boy killed in a shooting near DCIS at Ford Elementary School on Tuesday night has been identified, according to a Thursday news release from the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

La’Zic Abraham was transported from the 14500 block of East Maxwell Place to Children’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy determined Abraham died from gunshot wounds.

The manner of death is homicide, the OEM news release said.

Denver Police said there is no suspect information as of Thursday but asked anyone with information about the case to contact the police department.
