Royals 6, Rockies 1 Sunday at Surprise Stadium

On the mound: Returning from a hamstring strain, right-handed starter Antonio Senzatela made his first official Cactus League start and allowed two runs on eight hits with no walks and two strikeouts across 3 2/3 innings. … Lefty Ben Bowden, making a push for the roster, bailed Senzatela out of a jam in the fourth by notching a strikeout. … Right-hander Dereck Rodriguez struggled again, giving up two runs on three hits (included a homer) in an inning of work. His ERA stands at 11.00.

At the plate: Josh Fuentes, who will see significant time at third base this season, was 2-for-4 with one double and hit his first home run. … Infield prospect Alan Trejo started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Worth noting: Colorado loaded the bases with one out in the sixth but failed to score when Connor Joe struck out and Dom Nunez lined out to right field.

Up next: Rangers (10-7) at Rockies (9-10), 2:10 p.m. Monday, Salt River Fields

Rockies pitchers: RHP Germán Márquez, RHP Scott Oberg, RHP Daniel Bard, RHP Mychal Givens
