A man was shot and hospitalized after a shooting in north Aurora on Sunday night, according to Aurora police.
Police received a call for a shooting near 35th Avenue and Helena Street around 7:15 p.m., police tweeted. The man who was shot has serious injuries.
Officers are investigating a shooting near 35th/Helena. Call came in around 7:15 & there is a large police presence in the area.
Adult male shot & transported with serious injuries. No suspect info at this time.

Chambers Road from 33rd to 38th avenues have been closed in both directions while officers investigate, police tweeted. There isn’t an estimated time of reopening.

Police suggest those traveling southbound in the area to take 38th Avenue to Sable Boulevard. Those going northboard should take 32nd Avenue to Airport Boulevard.
There is no information about a possible suspect at this time, but police are urging any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
