Major retailers will now offer in-store COVID-19 vaccinations

Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target are now opening up appointment slots for those who have yet to be vaccinated

Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target announced Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccinations will be provided in store.

With over 5,000 pharmacy locations nationwide, and are offering both walk-up and scheduled appointments.

“Now that supply and eligibility have expanded, itap even more important for us to reach underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Cheryl Pegus, executive vice president of health and wellness, in a news release.

Target is also accepting appointments through its . After customers have been vaccinated, they will receive a $5 coupon for in-store purchases.

In Colorado, there have been over 2.6 million vaccinated with over 1.9 million having been fully immunized. According to data provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, over 4 million cumulative doses have been distributed.

“Widespread vaccination is the only way we will eventually end the pandemic and help our country reopen, and we don’t want anyone to get left behind as we enter this new chapter in our fight against COVID-19,” Pegus said in the release.
