Here’s a look at the biggest blasts from the Home Run Derby on Monday at Coors Field.
8:45 p.m.
This turned into the Pete Alonso show. As impressive as Trey Mancini’s 22 bombs were in the finals, Alonso blasted one more, including several that flirted with the main scoreboard in left-center. Alonso did the Home Run Derby at Coors Field proud.

After cranking 35 homers in the first round, Mets slugger Pete Alonso smashed 16 to advance to the finals. His longest – a 498-foot bomb to left – came as close to kissing the scoreboard as anyone did all night. His power surge knocked out Juan Soto.

Rockies hopeful Trevor Story is out. O’s slugger Trey Mancini bashed 13 homers in the second round, dashing hopes of a hometown win. Mancini peppered the left-field bleachers and may have even grazed the Toyota Tundra sign atop the stands. Mancini advances to the finals.
Incredible comeback story for Trey Mancini. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in March 2020 and had surgery to remove a malignant tumor a few days later. He underwent chemotherapy until late September. Now he's in the finals of the All-Star Home Run Derby.

Shohei Ohtani didn’t get his first home run until a minute into the first round, but he blasted a few deep, including one that landed 513 feet away.
Ohtani and Soto tied at 22-apiece, forcing a swing-off. They tied again at 28-apiece. Soto would go 3-for-3 in the next sudden death and advance after Ohtani grounded out on his first swing.
