Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible Thursday in Colorado’s High Country and on the plains, before the weather gives way to hot and dry conditions for the next week.
High temperatures in Denver are forecasted to reach 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Severe storms are possible from the Wyoming border down onto the adjacent plains, forecasters said.
The storms are most likely between noon and 7 p.m. in the mountains and from 2 to 8 p.m. on the plains.
The rain could also bring low-to-medium risk for flooding in burn scar areas from last year’s fires.
Isolated to scattered storms (Noon – 7 pm mountains, 2 pm – 8 pm plains). A low severe storm threat from the CO/WY border southeast onto the adjacent plains.

Friday will be warmer with a high of 93 degrees. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening with a low of 63 degrees. Much of the weekend will have highs in the mid-90s with showers later in the day.
