The Birdseye fire in northeast El Paso County was completely contained Sunday and residents who evacuated will be allowed to return home, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s office.

The more than 21-acre fire forced the evacuation of about 150 homes Friday within a 2-mile radius of the 19000 block of Birdsey View in Peyton. Residents who evacuated can begin returning home at noon on Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.

The fire was 100% contained Sunday morning. It began in a structure and then spread. One structure burned, and another partially burned. No one was hurt in the blaze.
